This ancient skull could change the history of human evolution
A discovery of ancient human skull buried under a village in the former Soviet Republic , Georgia has revealed clues that could shake the theory of human evolution .
Skull is estimated to have 1.8 million -year -old might be able to make the theory of human evolution researchers to re- write the history of mankind .
" It's a skull with a nearly perfect and complete form . Having said that, this skull has a lot of information . " said Jamie Shreeve , science editor at National Geographic .
5 Skull Skull with this name is thought to be the skull belonged to an adult male with a large protruding jaw and brain volume is less than half the size of humans today .
In addition , four other partial skulls found along with the skull . The fourth alleged skull is also derived from the same time , but with the amount of variation in skull volume different from one another . It is also apparent in modern humans .
" We do not call a modern human pygmy and Eskimos are humans with different species , " said Shreeve . " And we should certainly not supposed to call them different species as well . " he added .
It also has a sense if there might be only a few species of early humans in ancient times . But in one of these species also have a body size and skull are different , just like modern humans .
Meaning can not be many branches on the tree of human evolution if later species such as Homo habilis and Homo ergaster is the only species of the homo erectus .
