Almost impossible for the acquisition of the BlackBerry could Lenovo
In previous reports , described that Lenovo has now seriously to woo BlackBerry . However , predicted intentions Chinese gadget manufacturer is not going smoothly .
As reported by Reuters ( 17/10 ) , there is a clear prohibition that inhibits a step in the acquisition of Lenovo's BlackBerry . Moreover , if the acquisition is caught intentions are not good .
Previously , in a covered agreement , there is a possibility that Lenovo could have bought some parts from the BlackBerry and the rest discarded . This is not considered good to be challenged severely by the applicable regulations .
At least , Lenovo had to face two- time review of two different regulators . The first came from Ottawa , Canada , and then continued in Washington , United States .
Indeed , according to the Investment Canada Act , Canadian Federal government has a veto to cancel any transaction for the acquisition of foreign assets in the country , including national companies classmates BlackBerry . If it is this acquisition will only harm the country , then the government can undo it .
As one example , last week the Canadian government has banned Egyptian telecom giant to dominate Allstream fiber optic cable owned by Manitoba Telecom Services Inc. . For security reasons, the government unilaterally cancel this cooperation plan .
Lenovo itself assessed only will dredge BlackBerry resource only. Thus , only Lenovo will personally profit while BlackBerry will still languish .
