Cool, this statue is made of layers of paper!
When looking at this statue for the first time, you would have thought that the statue was made of porcelain or stone. In fact, this statue is made of thousands of layers of soft paper.
The statue is the work of an artist from Beijing, Li Hongbo. In addition to working as an artist, Hongbo also a book editor and designer. Hongbo using layers of paper thin and smooth and sculpt a statue in human form, as reported by Oddy Central (11/10).
Hongbo was inspired to make these paper sculptures after observing traditional Chinese toys. The artist was very fond of Chinese toy-shaped decoration made of layers of paper. The paper coating and can be pasted using glue held together to form a flat. But when it is opened, it can form a paper toy flowers or other unique shapes.
Because it is made of layers of paper, the form of the statue is subject to change
It is then the implementation on his artwork. He uses the concept of the honeycomb structure of his paper with a larger scale to make a sculpture. As a result, the statue has a very high degree of flexibility and can be changed without destroying it....
This level of flexibility is very high sculpture
Hongbo recently held an exhibition at Dominik Mersch Gallery, Australia, to showcase their efforts.
